Different Types of Koochie Juices: What your body might be telling you

Let's talk about something that EVERY person with a koochie experiences but few of us were actually taught to understand......... VAGINAL DISCHARGE.

For a looooong time, a lot of us were led to believe that any discharge meant something was wrong. By a lot of us, I mean me. But from my extensive research, discharge is completely normal. Well, ain't that bout a b*tch. Apparently, it's one of the ways your koochie cleans, protects, and talks to you.

The KEY is learning what normal for you looks like, and noticing when something is off.

So let's break it down color by color:

Clear & Stretchy

(Egg White Consistency)

This usually shows up around ovulation (horny time)

  • Clear or slightly cloudy

  • Slippery

  • Stretchy between your fingers

This is your body's fertile window. Hormones are shifting, and your cervical mucus is helping sperm travel. Nothing is wrong here. this is a sign your body is doing exactly what it's designed to do!

White or Creamy

The most common and can show up at different points in your cycle.

  • White or off-white

  • Creamy or lotion-like

  • Mild or no smell

This is usually normal, especially before or after your period. It can shift with hormones, stress, or birth control. If there is no itching or discomfort, this is just your body doing its regular job.

Thin & Grayish

(Pos

sible BV Sign)

This is where we start paying attention a lil' more closely.

  • Thin & watery

  • Gray or dull white

  • Strong odor (fishy, especially after sex)

This can be a sign of BV, which is an imbalance in koochie bacteria.

Thick, White, and Clumpy (Pos

sible Yeast Infection)

OH, you can see this one!!

  • Cottage cheese texture

  • Itching or irritation

  • Burning or discomfort during peeing or sex

This can be a sign of a yeast overgrowth, often linked to Candida.

Yellow or Green

(Check-In Needed)

You need to get that koochie checked expeditiously!!!

  • Yellow, green, or pus-like

  • Strong odor

  • Possible discomfort or irritation

This can sometimes point to an infection that needs medical attention, especially if paired with pain or unusual symptoms.

Brown or Bloody

(Cycle-Rel

ated or Spotting)

This can show up as:

  • Beginning or end of your period

  • Light spotting between cycles

  • Sometimes after sex or hormonal shifts

Usually it's old blood leaving the body, but if it becomes frequent or unusual for you, it's worth checking in with a physician.

Koochie Truth

Your discharge is not random. It's information.

It tells you:

  • Where you are in your cycle

  • How your hormones are shifting

  • When your body is balanced

  • When something might be off

The goal is not to panic at every change. The goal is to know how your koochie acts when she's healthy so you can recognize when something is different.

Journal Prompt

  1. What messages has my body been trying to communicate that I've been ignoring or misunderstanding?

  2. How would it change my relationship with my body if I saw it as intelligent instead of "problematic"?

Your body is not confusing. She's talking to you girl!!

Once you stop treating your koochie like something to fix and start seeing her like something to understand, everything SHIFTS.

You don't need fear. You need AWARENESS.

Your body has been talking the whole time. Listen in.
